“We want this to be an enjoyable and affordable experience for the attendees. That is why we included a tour of Montpelier, the home of James Madison, and Clore, a local furniture company known for quality workmanship. Plus folks will get to experience beautiful Virginia countryside, hospitality and home cooking associated with Graves Mountain Lodge,” states Robert Shoemaker, Virginia Forage and Grassland Council President.
The event will begin on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 with the Cool Season Workshop and then continue on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 thru Friday, May 24, 2013 with the tour and National Hay Contest. The event headquarters is Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria, Virginia.
“Plan to come to Virginia at a perfect time of year and expect to see examples of fine farms situated on some of the best land in Virginia. Virginia’s Northern Piedmont agriculture, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains will be at its best in May. You will make lifelong friends here,” states Carl Stafford Event Chair.
