Grazing School for Ag Professionals April 2019

April 24-25, 2019 in Raphine, VA, at the Shenandoah Valley Ag Research and Extension Center. This 2-day, in-depth training is designed specifically for conservationists, Extension agents and other Ag professionals working at the field level. This immersion style training is designed to provide a better understanding of assessment and management of the resources that make up a grazing system including:
● Forage species, plant growth and grazing management
● Farm assessment and forage supply/livestock demand
● Grazing arithmetic and pasture allocation
● Grazing system design, livestock flow, stock density management and grazing plan development
This school will be hosted at the Shenandoah Valley Agricultural Research & Extension Center located at 128 Cyrus McCormick Circle, Raphine, VA 24472.
Space is limited to the first 30 paid registrations. This course is located central to the Shenandoah Valley and Southwest Virginia.
Approved for 8.0 DCR contact hours for Certified Conservation Planners and 6.5 CEU’s for Certified Nutrient Management Planners
