Summer Forage Tour for Beef and Bobs
VFGC hosts a series of Summer Forage Field Days focusing on how Native Summer Forages can be effectively used for both production and wildlife benefits. As they say when it comes to NWSG’s, “What’s good for the bird is good for the herd!” The evening field days will include a meal at 5:30 pm followed by a pasture walk on July 18th in Randolph (Charlotte County), July 19th in Brightwood (Madison County), and July 20th in Swoope (Augusta County). The featured speaker will be Dr. Pat Keyser, the Director of the Center for Native Warm Season Grasses, from Tennessee. Come join us as we meet with producers in Virginia who have effectively established and managed these forages on their farms, and see how they are using them to benefit their grazing operation. Register today for one of these great events!
