The VFGC and its local partners invite you to an evening Pasture Walk at Happy Farmer Farm in Gladys, VA on the evening of June 5^th.  The event will begin at 5:30 with a boxed dinner followed by a walking tour of multiple pastures as we learn how Jerry Jennings has made improvements to the farm over the years to diversity the forage base, to build resiliency in the system and extend the grazing season, while building soil health.  Other topics will include managing spring forage growth, weed and brush control considerations for summer and fall, native warm season grass establishment , carbon testing of the soil, and farm pond weed management. Both the local NRCS and SWCD will provide program updates.
